Training in Review

"I just wanted to pass along how good the Chaplain training is. Last week a couple of us assisted the Hwy Patrol in a double fatality auto
accident north of here. We were on the scene and volunteered our help.
Because of our training, we knew what to do and what not to do. The
training gave us the confidence to help the victim's family, friends and
even their pastor.

"...in my opinion, this should be required training for all Christians and churches, especially in New York City. I appreciate the training I received from all of you. Come back real soon... We need you!" Attendee NYC

The time is NOW
Victim Chaplains and Victim Relief Crisis Responders from across the country have been deployed in response to Hurricane Katrina in the areas of evacuee shelters across Texas and Louisiana and the "Find Family National Call Center" in Baton Rouge. With additional hurricanes and other disasters predicted, the need for trained, certified chaplains and responders is greater than ever.

Trained Victim Chaplains Needed Now...

"If you were called to give 1,000 death notifications, could you handle it?" That is the question asked of VCCAA and VRM by the director of Homeland Security for this area.

Victim Chaplains are needed now more than ever to respond to the unique needs of victims of crime, terrorism, and natural disasters. Events such as these are unexpected and devastating! There will always be events such as these and others that require the need for comforting people in a manner appropriate for the time and circumstances. The need is great, but trained, qualified Victim Chaplains are few!

Help spread the word about the VCCAA Victim Chaplain Certification Program! Victims need you!

VCCAA...

Until now there has not been a Chaplaincy program specifically designed to meet the unique needs of those who have been victimized. Victim Chaplains will work directly with Police Departments and Police Chaplains ministering to the victims and their families. Often a victim's needs go unmet in the midst of a criminal investigation. Victim Chaplains will be trained to deal specifically with individuals and families who have been traumatized by victimization.
