Steve Shelton, pastor of Buckner Terrace Baptist Church in East Dallas attended VCCAA training in August. He has responded to Victim Chaplaincy as a renewed calling to the needs of people in crisis. His vision is for his church to become a lighthouse and refuge for victims.

Since that time, Steve has volunteered hours of his time in organizing and developing the new Victim Chaplains Crisis Response Teams for the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex Area.

In addition, a new crisis response trailer and truck have been donated to Victim Relief Ministries and has become the mobile command center for the Chaplaincy ministry. Steve introduced the new unit in early October at the Texas State Fair in conjunction with Dallas Police Department ICP Program.

President Gene Grounds states "Steve Shelton's leadership role has been invaluable to the launching of this Chaplaincy ministry. His unselfish commitment to serving the needs of victims is evident in his response to any call or task at any time. He has exhibited humility and dedication to assisting me in any way he can to help lighten my load. He is greatly appreciated!
